Capnostat Mainstream CO2 Module General Information

Durable solid state design for the harsh hospital environment.
The innovative design of the Capnostat mainstream CO2 sensor has no moving parts making it rugged and accurate. A claim which is backed by an outstanding 3-year parts and labor warranty on the sensor. All this is accomplished using non-dispersive infrared absorption (NDIR) analysis to continuously measure inspired CO2, expired CO2 and respiration rate.
The sensor simply snaps onto the airway adapter which is connected to the endotracheal tube in the breathing circuit. A crisp, accurate, diagnostic waveform is displayed within 30 seconds and is completely operational within 2 min.
Intubated patients from adult to neonate are measured with the mainstream Capnostat CO2 sensor. A wide selection of airway adapters are available including disposable/reusable, adult/neonatal. Mainstream CO2 technology significantly improves secretion handling and response time from that found in sidestream systems.
The Capnostat module is compatible with Marquette TramscopeŽ 12 and the SolarŽ modular products. Including CO2 measurement as an integral part of these advanced patient monitors offering many advantages over stand alone devices. The inspired CO2, expired CO2, respiration rate and capnograph are easily viewed along with other important vital sign information in one convenient location. Selectable alarm limits for these values including no breath detect are incorporated into the overall alarm structure of the system. The values are stored in memory which can be printed on the two or four inch printers. The compact modular design reduces clutter while allowing modules to be easily moved between beds reducing department cost.
