MAC® 8 Resting ECG Analysis System General Information
The Cornerstone for Demanding ECG Requirements
Marquette knows how hard you work. User feedback continually
demonstrates your need for an ECG system whose accuracy, display quality and reliability
can keep the pace. The MAC 8 resting ECG analysis system was created to meet the demand.
A Cornerstone Must Sit on a Strong Foundation
The MAC 8 system reflects decades of Marquette experience in
electrocardiography through a unique combination of innovation and simplicity.
Innovations such as the proven 12SL ECG analysis program (see
box), a highly visible plasma display and a unique battery charging system. And simplicity
- demonstrated by an intuitive user interface, effortless paper loading and no maintenance
battery.
A Cornerstone Must Endure
Like its predecessors bearing the MAC family name, the MAC 8 system is
designed to minimize obsolescence and maximize information sharing. Easy upgradeability
and multiple communication options make it a smart choice for the future.
Furthermore, the MAC 8 system offers a technical foundation for bridging
the generations. Its design provides the ability to communicate with earlier MAC resting
ECG and MUSE cardiology management systems.
Digitize the signal at the patient, improve Common Mode Rejection, and
eliminate analog cable noise with the AM-4 acquisition module, Marquette's fourth
generation of active patient cables.
INTERLEAD leadwire connectors gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and
ensure optimal signal quality. Convenient access enables you to easily switch connectors
to accommodate a variety of electrodes. (Color coded for either AHA or IEC requirements.)
Eliminate multiple keystroke sequences with the Trim Knob control or
single action function keys.
12SL ECG Analysis Program
In its second decade, the Marquette 12SL ECG analysis program continues
to evolve, using a database of clinically correlated ECGs. The result is a program of
uncompromising quality and proven reliability in the collection and interpretation of ECG
data. Over the years frequent testing against the database is responsible for the gains
made in rhythm, conduction, hypertrophy and infarction detection.

Options to Build With...
Fax Transmission
Using digital technology, the FAX Option transmits the ECG with greater
resolution than standard fax machines. Using convenient calibration points in place of a
distorting grid, the receiving physician acquires a remarkably clean tracing for
interpretation.
Modem Transmission
Transmitting or receiving an ECG with the Modem Option opens many
possibilities. Via simple telephone lines, one may communicate with previous generations
of similarly-equipped MAC resting ECG systems or MUSE® cardiology management systems.
Remote Retrieval
The Remote Query Option develops ECG transmission into an active clinical tool. By
tying into a telephone line, one may request and print previous ECGs from any PC-based
MUSE system. |
