SD 240
Building on success

Nothing succeeds like success. As a major player in the compact ultra-sound market, Philips benefits from being able to plan on high volume production. These large numbers allow ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) technology to be combined with sub-miniature surface mounted components to put the whole scanner on a single circuit board. Not only does this enable the company to design a truly compact system, but also guarantees unparalleled reliability. The SD 240 is such a system. The benefits go far beyond size and reliability, however, to include great versatility and many unique features.

Versatility

Versatility is assured by two probe connectors for a choice of 16 Annular Array, Linear or Convex probes, including a choice between a 150° sector endovaginal, or a 10 mm radius 150° micro-convex endocavity probe. Philips is well known for its extensive yet intuitive software The software packages include Obstetrics, Gynecology, Urology and Cardiology, all with their own report pages

Features

Among the unique features are a built-in diskette drive for storing user settings and images in normal PC format. In addition to the diskette, a computer can be connected using the standard RS 232 port and Open Data Transfer accessory. A back-lit keyboard with full travel keys is included for fluent text input.

FLP (Fine Line Processing)

Fine Line Processing is a new development that gives four times the normal line density for a smooth, high resolution image to take full advantage of the SD 240's large monitor

SD 240 Mobile

The SD 240 is also available as the SD 240 Mobile in which the scanner is incorporated in an intelligently thought-out cart which offers space for a video printer as well as ample storage for disposables.
