At GE we have one simple commitment. We believe each of our technological improvements should have a positive impact on your clinical practice - every day, with every patient and every exam.

More than just improved ergonomics and expanded functionality, the Gateway fx truly represents a significant achievement in imaging performance. Combining our new Expanded Aperture Beamformer technology with the industry's first family ot two-dimensional array probes has resulted in unparalleled image quality for all applications - from superficial to far-field imaging. Building on a proven foundation of our ultrasound imaging technologies, these 2D Matched Impedance array probes promise new and improved diagnostic performance.

The 2D Array probe footprint, cable and connector size remain identical to our current Matched Impedance™ probes, yet dramatic improvements in image quality are achieved.

As shown in these images of chronic thrombus in the lessor saphenous vein, conventional 1D Arrays focus only in the axial and lateral dimensions.

2D Arrays focus additionally in the elevation plane resulting in significant improvement in spatial and contrast resolution.
Going beyond the limitations of conventional electronic beam focusing, our proprietary two-dimensional focusing technique uses a combination of innovative transducer and system fron-end designs. The beam in a 2D Array transducer is dynamically focused in all directions, producing a thinner beam slice for optimal spatial and contrast resolution.

Gateway fx is a powerful example of the value of our upgradeable platform. The Gateway fx integrates the GE core ultrasound imaging and Doppler technologies:

  • Frequency Domain Imaging
  • Matched Impedance Probes
  • Confocal Imaging
  • Quantitative Color Doppler
  • UltrasoundAngio™ II
  • Vascular Topography

with our most recent enhancements:

  • 2D Array Imaging
  • Expanded Aperture Beamformer
  • Large Monitors
  • Confocal Windowing
  • Automated Calculations
  • Dicom 3 Compatibility
  • Advanced Networking

to give our customers improved diagnostic performance, ease of use, cost-effective operations and a family of probes optimized for all clinical applications.

UltrasoundAngio clearly defines ECA stenosis.

Renal UltrasoundAngio with flow quantitation.
